EXPERIENCE

 

  • 5 years' experience as the prime chemist with Marine Chemist Service in Hampton Roads, Virginia

  • 1 year serving the island of Oahu

  • Mastery of the structure, systems, and location of spaces on all naval-class vessels, including carriers, destroyers, cruisers, submarines, LSDs, LPDs, LHDs, and TAOs

  • cutters & patrol boats

  • Additional experience with commercial vessels including barges and tugboats

  • Written 3,500+ certificates with 0 adverse events

  • 5 years' experience teaching SCP initial and update courses, using proprietary material satisfying all NAVSEA and OSHA requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

 

  • Graduated magna cum laude in 2013 with BS in toxicology

  • Trained in New Orleans, LA; Boston, MA; and Beaumont, TX, on commercial vessels

  • In 2017, completed the required rigorous program of study and training to become a Certified Marine Chemist, which included 3 years of experience in shipyards and analytical laboratories, over 400 hours of shadowing, 18 maritime training modules, and a board examination

  • Continuing education includes attending seminars through the Marine Chemist Association and recertifying every 5 years; recertified July 2022
